Whilst we had our struggles early on post Covid break to get boys and girls together, we did eventually get it done after some good work and negotiations from both clubs eventually finalised on a merged U12 age group in both Gold and Silver brackets.
In the Silver’s it did prove very tough early in the season both with kids opening up to each other and developing new combinations and coming out of their shells in a somewhat unfamiliar environment with new faces. The added challenge of juggling 19 players through games also wasn’t without its challenges and probably curtailed the potential development of the team early in the year.
Having said that the improvement towards the middle half and then into the back end of the year was significant and the combinations and personality of the team grew.
This improvement while might not have materialised into many wins it was evident in several standout performances at the back end of the year from a number of boys and girls that the team as a whole started to grow increasingly more confident and comfortable as a group.
Couldn’t be prouder about the last couple of results and growth of all boys and girls in the Silvers.
I enjoyed Coaching the Yarra/Bosco Silvers this year and whilst to early at this stage to gauge next years situation, I believe that all Yarrawarrah and Bosco kids have formed new friendships and are better of for the experience.
Massive shout out to Dave Pool in the managers role and Matt Hamilton (Trainer), also must mention special thanks to TK for his helping throughout the year and thank you all for the support.
Glen.
Harry Burtenshaw
In what was Harry’s 2nd year of footy it was clearly evident that his improvement was significant from 2019, did some good things at back end of year. Good work Harry.
Lukas Clarke My first involvement with Lukas this year and I must say his enthusiasm and willingness to get involved impressed me, never scared of contact or tough stuff. Keep it up Lukas.
Will Cleland Wills' first year as a Tiger and playing up an age he was one of our best consistently, always first up in contact and reliable in defence even on all the big boppers and gave good service to halves out of dummy half. Great work Will.
Millie Cowie
What more can you say about Millie Moo, albeit in a new team with new team mates probably put her in shell a bit early in the year, she had her usual very strong back end of the year, consistently showing the boys the way in both attack and defense. Did see some trademark Millie tries and bruising hits. Been a pleasure Millie, Sad it has to end.
Cruz Davids
Cruz is great little player who steered us around around the park extremely well and always try’s his best in defense. Cruz is a pleasure to coach and with continued application think he could go far. Good work Cruz.
Archie Donnelly
Archie is a solid running back rower who when involved always got us front foot, was also a staple on the edge in defense. Keep ripping in Archie.
Sam Dover
Sam was a consistent rock on the edge and on many occasions his barnstorming runs set up try scoring opportunities. Was clearly one of the silvers best and can only see upwards improvement in Sam. Always poled high in our 3,2,1 votes. Great year Sam.
Presley Gibson
Presley had steady improvement all year and even had a couple of standout runs later in year. Keep it coming Presley.
Dean Goody
Dean another Tiger that started the season slow, but his mid to late season improvement this year was exceptional, with consistent work with ball in hand and strong running, but his attitude and mongrel in defense stood out in the back end. Coming up with some big hits on bigger kids. Loved your work Deano.
Harlee Hamilton
Harlee had a solid year, he was a nothing short of that rock at the back and early on didn’t we rely on him saving many a try as the last line of defense, was also a constant spark in attack chiming in the backline, we are still yet to see his best. Open up the throttle Harlee.
Cody Pepper Lane
I’ve been coaching for some years and he seems to steadily improve every year, does his share in both attack and defense. Keep it up Cody.
Bill Laws
Billy is a great kid and was a pleasure to coach, made some great tackles late in the year.
Charlotte Merkabaoui
Charlotte been with us for a number of years and continues to rip in year in and year out, her infectious smile and enthusiasm makes her a pleasure to coach. Had some great touches this year and always has a go. Go Charlotte.
Liam Ogle
My first year with Liam and thoroughly enjoyed coaching him this year, he always put his hand up and had a crack and can be damaging ball runner. Love his honesty would like to see him get bit more involved.
Reece Pool
Reece another that was a pleasure to coach, he has great skills with ball in hand and creates many scoring opportunities for his team mates and no one carried team results more than Reece, which only shows his leadership qualities going forward. Also kicked some pressure conversions which is testament to work he puts in. Think Reece can develop into real footy player.
Ben Reardon
Ben always does what is asked and expected of him, great kid who I love having in the team. His strong ball running and effort in defense can’t be faulted, would love to see more involvement from Ben. Keep it Benny.
Alex Sinclair
Alex is clearly the shop front of our side always putting his hand up to do the hard yards out of our own end and getting us on the front foot into the attacking zone. Couldn’t have been prouder of his last couple of games when he clearly showed a bit of the mongrel we’d been searching for during the season. Keep it up next year Alex.
Jake Stephenson
Jake another in his first year of footy, showed some great improvements during the year and with some tackling technique training during the season really payed off with Jake pulling off some rippa tackles and by the seasons end was first picked in his position every week. Can see Jake kicking on next year to become a much improved footy player.
Hudson Wilcox
Hudson always has a go both with ball in hand and in defense and provides good service out of dummy half, also got a few meat pies during year. Keep ripping in buddy.
