Today's Round 5 Open Silver clash between Bosco and Joeys at Kareela Oval ended in a 22-22 all draw after the Bosco A-Reserves almost stole an unlikely victory with a late try in the dying minutes of the game.
The difference between victory and a draw would ultimately come down to a clutch kick for captain Jordan Hollis from the side-line which was on target but didn't have the distance.
The Bosco team went into today's game with a number of players unavailable due to injury. This match would ultimately see that injury toll grow and at times the Bosco bench looked somewhat like the triage unit in an army field hospital.
Despite the growing injury toll on the bench the boys dug deep and rallied to claw themselves back to within 4 points with just a few minutes left in the match. Their resilience and determination paid off with a late try in the corner with just 1 minutes left on the clock.
The conversation from the side-line was always going to be tough and ultimately the dream come from behind victory just wasn't meant to be on this occasion.
The Bosco A-Reserves have had 2 victories, 2 losses and now a draw to start out their 2021 season. We are confident they will bounce back and be back in the winners circle soon.
