Commitee Roles & Responsibilities

 

Our great club does not run itself. Below are the roles and associated responsibilities within the club. Why not consider applying for one of the positions and contribute to our club.

EXECUTIVE COMMITEE POSITIONS

 

President

The President is the principal leader of the Bosco Bulldogs JRLC and has overall responsibility for the club's administration and is elected by the club's members and responsible for representing the views of the members.

 

The President helps the committee prioritise its goals and then keeps the committee on track by working within the overall framework.

 

Vice President

The Vice President assists in providing leadership and direction to the club in conjunction with the president or in the absence of the president, assist in an acting president capacity in relation to club decisions and general meetings.

 

Secretary

The Secretary is the key administrative officer of the club and is responsible for the efficient management of the club in conjunction with assisting the president and vice president in achieving their role by taking and maintaining minutes from all club meetings, receive and answer correspondence and shall carry out all secretarial duties as required by the Club.

 

Assistant Secretary

Assist the secretary in their role and any other duties as required by the Club including all working with children checks are conducted and reported accordingly as required under JRL rules.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is the chief financial management officer for the club and is directly responsible for the management of the club's accounts and financial operations.

 

 

GENERAL COMMITEE POSITIONS

 

Registrar

The Registrar is responsible for the accurate and timely registration of all players, club officials (coaches, managers, sports trainers and officials).

Recorder

Maintaining and updating of games played for registered players in the season and points scored in order to calculate finals numbers for end of the season for club trophies and milestones.

Ground Control Co-Ordinators
 

  • Saturday Ground Set Up  – Responsible for setting up the field as required by JRL and any other required sets up to effectively run the games for the day.

  • Sunday Ground Set Up  – Responsible for setting up the field as required by JRL and any other required sets up to effectively run the games for the day.

Canteen Supervisor

The Canteen Co-ordinator is responsible for management of the club 's canteen in preparation for game days and at any other event or function as nominated. In addition, the following day specific co-ordinators form part of this team:
 

  • Saturday Co-Ordinator – Responsible for running of canteen on game day at home ground with assistance from allocated homes teams at varying times during the course of the day.

  • Sunday Co-Ordinator– Responsible for running of canteen on game day at home ground with assistance from allocated homes teams at varying times during the course of the day.

Property Officer

The Property Officer is responsible for issuing of all club property, this may be in conjunction with the Clothing Officer.

Clothing Officer

The Clothing Officer, in conjunction with the Property Officer, is responsible for ordering, safe storage and maintenance of players uniforms and clothing items (jerseys, shorts and shocks) as well as club merchandise.

Sponsorship Co-Ordinators

The Sponsorship Co-Ordinators are responsible for securing sponsorships on behalf of the club and managing the process accordingly.

 

Social Committee Supervisor

The Social Committee Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all events held by the club in co-ordination with its relevant committee members as outlined below:

  • Club Events Committee - This committee is responsible for the co-ordination of special events for the club including mid-season encouragement awards night, trivia night, photographs and presentation day

  • Sports Luncheon Committee – This committee is responsible for the co- ordination of the clubs annual sportsman's luncheon and any associated fundraising.

  • Ladies Lunch/Dinner Committee – This committee is responsible for the co- ordination of the annual ladies function held in July each year.

  • Special Club Events Committee – This committee is responsible for the co- ordination of events around annual Women in League round held in July, annual mother's day events and any other events as approved by the committee prior to the commencement of the season and including on the social committee calendar for the season.

 

Social Media Co-Ordinator

The Social Media Co-Ordinator is responsible for all social media programs held by the firm and website maintenance to ensure that all club members are keep informed on relevant information regarding the club.

 

Emails and Publicity Officer

The Email and Publicity Officer is responsible for all communications required via email or any publicity in conjunction with Website Co-Ordinator and Social Media Co-Ordinator and ensures that all club members are keep informed on relevant information regarding the club.

 

Girls Tag League Co-Ordinator

The Girls Tag League Co-Ordinator is responsible for the management of the clubs Girls Tag League competition and is the direct contact between the teams and the committee.

 

Boys Coaching Co-Ordinator

The Coaching Co-Ordinator is responsible for the management of the clubs coaching programs and promoting the value of the coaching within the club whilst working closely with the boys team coaches. The co-ordinator is the to be the direct contact between the boys team coaches and the committee.

 

Girls Coaching Co-Ordinator

The Coaching Co-Ordinator is responsible for the management of the clubs coaching programs and promoting the value of the coaching within the club whilst working closely with the girls team coaches. The co-ordinator is the to be the direct contact between the girls team coaches and the committee.

 

Grading Committee

The Grading Committee is responsible to conduct any pre-season grading of teams in consultation with executive committee members to ensure players are accurately graded into relevant teams as per their displayed abilities of the game.

 

Field Maintenance/Line Marking Co-Ordinator

The Field Maintenance/Line Marketing Co-ordinator is responsible to ensure that the home field required line markings are conducted each week prior to the commencement of the games over the preceding weekend.

Club Licensee

The Bar Licensee is required to be over the age of 18 years of age and is responsible for the clubs Liquor License, the service of alcohol to patrons and management of the bar where alcohol is allowed to be served on game days as per the JRL rules. It is a legal requirement that the Licensee and anyone service alcohol under the supervision of the Club Licensee must have a current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol).

General Committee Members

Volunteers will hold no particular titled role and will form part of a general committee and help out through the club where they would be available.
